Reminiscent of my previously sold and popular painting Giuseppe, this painting is painted in chromatic blacks to create an intense depth effect. The bear cub looks as if it’s coming out of the shadows and into your living room. The background is abstract shapes made out of different shades of chromatic black. The fur of the cub took dozens of layers of color and glazes to achieve the lighting effect highlighting parts of his face as he steps out of the shadows and into the light.
